EN-FR Translation of the African Research and Data Use Capacity Building program (Afres) materials. Afres Data included a fellowship programme targeting early career researchers (ECRs) working on population and development issues in Africa, including in Family Planning/Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (FP/SRHR). The Fellowship, aimed at building a critical mass of ECRs with expertise in population analysis, research, and communication, included training sessions designed to equip participants with essential knowledge, skills and tools in research methodology, grantsmanship and the communication of scientific outputs to different audiences.

Simultaneous French English French Interpretation Services during the 10th Regional Dialogue on Biodiversity Finance. The 10th Regional Dialogue on Biodiversity Finance facilitated experience sharing and technical discussions among 18 BIOFIN countries (in Africa Region) creating a platform for lively discussions about results from BIOFIN Implementation to inform global audiences and future initiatives and explore opportunities for biodiversity finance solutions and investments in BIOFIN countries and the region.

EN-FR Simultaneous Interpretation services for RBM-AFI Joint Learning Program on Empowering Women-led MSMEs through Financial Education Initiatives. The JLP focused on identifying key requirements for the successful implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance the financial literacy and capabilities of Women-led MSMEs (WMSMEs). The program incorporated insights from selected AFI Knowledge Products, including the National Financial Education Strategies Toolkit, Integrating Vulnerable Groups in National Financial Education Programs and Strategies, Policy Model for Gender Inclusive Finance and Financial Education Programs Monitoring & Evaluation Toolkit.

OXFAM

EN-FR-PT Simultaneous Interpretation for Building Climate Resilience in S-E Africa Regional Workshop. “Building Climate Resilience in South-Eastern Africa” is funded by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by UN-Habitat together with the governments of Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, and the Union of Comoros, one city in each country, Oxfam and the Technical Centre Disaster Risk Management, Sustainability and Urban Resilience (DiMSUR). The project is assisting the four countries to build their urban resilience including a mix of city-level infrastructure projects, national-level capacity-building and regional experience sharing and learning. Four cities with different types of vulnerabilities were selected in these countries to implement climate adaptation projects following a participatory resilience planning process. The pilot projects include 4-8 interventions in each city, for example rehabilitating mangroves in Morondava (Madagascar), constructing and rehabilitating bridges and dams in Zomba (Malawi), constructing safe havens in Chokwe (Mozambique) and improving solid waste management in informal neighbourhoods of Moroni (Comoros).

Simultaneous Interpretation Services for English French English during the 4-day Resilient Food Systems Knowledge Exchange and Learning Workshop. In particular, the workshop provided opportunities to: • Consolidate learning experiences across all RFS projects through Learning Labs: short interactive sessions intended to maximise learning and exchange on specific topics of interest from country teams. • Interact with experience and evidence using a SHARED Joint Reflective Learning Approach around programmatic progress and lessons learned. • Assess the value addition of the programmatic approach piloted by the RFS. • Facilitate practical learning and peer exchange through field trips hosted by the RFS Malawi project team – Enhancing the Resilience of Agro-ecological Systems Project (ERASP).

International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED)

Interpretation-French English French for First meeting of the LIFE-AR Global Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Working Group and Community of Practice (CoP) to identify strategies and strengthen capacities for increased integration and coordination of GESI within the LIFE-AR initiative. The meeting brought together LIFE-AR GESI Working Group (GESI WG) members and representatives from the LIFE-AR MEL Working Group (MEL WG) to build consensus, share strategies and strengthen capacities for GESI analysis and gender-responsive investment planning in the delivery of LIFE-AR country initiatives, and to establish a GESI Community of Practice (CoP) for peer-to-peer learning and knowledge exchange in order to strengthen GESI within the initiative.

Simultaneous Interpretation Services for English, French, Portuguese for the PERSUADE II project. The PERSUADE project aimed at developing capacity for systematic analysis and use of routine data at regular intervals to improve the performance of the HIV, TB, and Malaria.

Simultaneous Interpretation Services during Traditional Leaders International Conference for English French-Arabic. The East and Southern Africa regional consultation and dialogue with traditional and cultural leaders and institutions aimed to galvanise and amplify the efforts and strategies carried out by traditional and cultural leaders and institutions on the elimination of child marriage, FGM/C and other harmful practices in Africa.

Translation of Climate Resilience Measurement for Communities materials from English to Chichewa. The Climate Resilience Measurement for Communities (CRMC) is a comprehensive tool which is used to engage with communities experiencing the effects of climate change. The tool has been created to measure resilience to multiple hazards – heatwaves and wildfires, in addition to flood – to accelerate climate change adaptation. As climate change continues to impact our planet, vulnerable communities are facing an increasingly dire situation. The current increase in temperature is having devastating consequences and disproportionately affecting those who lack the resources to adapt and build resilience.

EN-FR Simultaneous Interpretation Services for Green Innovation Centres for Agriculture and Food Sector (GIC) workshop. The green innovation centre in Malawi is helping to ensure that oil seeds such as peanuts, sunflower and soybeans can provide farmers in future with the income they urgently require. Furthermore, together with cassava, oil seeds add variety to the diet, which in turn improves the nutritional status.

Interpretation (EN-FR): Transitioning to the Enhanced Transparency Framework

Polyglotte Language Consulting provided EN–FR simultaneous interpretation for a training workshop on the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) under the Paris Agreement. The ETF replaces previous reporting systems with biennial transparency reports, strengthening climate action accountability. While it offers flexibility for developing countries, adapting to its detailed requirements remains challenging, highlighting the need for capacity building. The workshop supported participants—especially Least Developed Countries—in preparing effectively for their first ETF reporting cycle.
